A few years ago, the road transport from Russia to China through Kazakhstan was still prohibited, but now it has gradually started, and the volume of goods exported by the two countries to each other is basically close to the situation that the goods imported from China to Russia began to decrease. Previously, experts predicted that when the relations between Russia and the West, Ukraine and Türkiye were tense, the freight volume between China and Russia would increase, but in the first quarter of 2016, the data remained at the same level as last year. The biggest advantage of transporting goods from Kazakhstan to China through the Siberian Federal Region lies in the reduction of transportation distance and customs taxes.
